SMMA has given a combined $5,250 in scholarships to three high school seniors as part of the annual SMMA Fund. The three recipients graduated this year from Massachusetts high schools, and will be attending college this fall.
The 2024 Fund recipients stood out for their academic achievements and leadership both inside and outside of school. Their volunteer efforts included working at soup kitchens, helping out at a non-profit community art museum, and raising $14,000 in a church charity drive.
Now in its fourteenth year, the SMMA Fund offers financial aid to high school seniors attending schools designed by SMMA.
The Fund supports students’ continued education in a field of design that contributes to the built environment, such as architecture, engineering, and interior design. Since 2011, SMMA has awarded 62 scholarships totaling more than $70,250 to students from 17 high schools.
