SMMA has announced six new promotions, including two new Senior Associates and four new Associates.
The promoted group is drawn from a diverse range of disciplines across SMMA’s integrated design model, including architecture, engineering, graphic design, and sustainable design.
Lorraine Finnegan, President and CEO, confirmed the news at an all-hands meeting last week.
Senior Associates
Anthony Castelline, a mechanical engineer, has been promoted to Senior Associate.
“Anthony has become a highly valued member of the mechanical group,” said Lorraine. “He is a natural collaborator both within the group and across our other disciplines. His special power is his methodical nature of developing his designs and fleshing out the details in a consistent manner, sometimes under great pressure. He has represented the firm with clients for several years, earning respect for his measured input and patience.”
Michael Reid, an architect, has been promoted to Senior Associate.
“Mike has taken on a critical design leadership role in several of our most complex K-12 school projects,” said Lorraine. “He has been an enthusiastic mentor to more junior colleagues, with a goal of elevating their team roles from job captains to project architects. Mike demonstrates each day not only his dedication to his own personal growth, but the growth of others around him.”
Associates
Kseniia Bimbashi, an architectural designer, has been promoted to Associate.
“Kseniia brings enthusiastic dedication to knowledge sharing and process improvements,” said Lorraine. “She has repeatedly demonstrated the ability to take mundane and technical subjects and infuse them with life, getting more junior team members to advance their understanding and allowing more senior staff a forum to share best practices and expertise.”
Jack Dombrowski, a graphic designer, has been promoted to Associate.
“Jack has consistently demonstrated leadership initiative and impact beyond his role, from creating innovative client tools like digital dashboards to enhancing our internal marketing systems,” said Lorraine. “A thoughtful communicator and a dedicated team player, Jack has advanced our experiential graphic design practice across major projects, closed operational gaps in our project work, and championed firm-wide brand implementation.”
Marissa Mayo, an architect, has been promoted to Associate.
“Marissa has consistently demonstrated the initiative to do more than is asked of her,” said Lorraine. “She has a desire to learn and to make anything she’s working on as good as she possibly can. Marissa’s abilities have impressed our clients and she has shown the ability to work at both the 10,000 foot level and down into the details.”
Ethan Seaman, a sustainable design analyst, has been promoted to Associate.
“Ethan has been a key player in developing our energy and carbon analysis services, from the complex stretch energy code to LEED modeling,” said Lorraine. “He has been a cross-disciplinary collaborator between our sustainable design department and our design disciplines around tools and analysis for building science and energy.”
Congratulations to Anthony, Michael, Kseniia, Jack, Marissa, and Ethan on their promotions!
