NAVFAC Mid-Atlantic IDIQ Projects

Naval Station Newport in Rhode Island is a world-renowned center of learning for naval studies. Through their Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract, SMMA has worked closely with Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) since 2018 to design, renovate, and provide maintenance for nearly 35 projects in Newport and its sister Naval Submarine Base in New London, CT.

The projects range widely in scope and complexity, from administrative facilities to infrastructure repairs, and all contribute to the well-being and performance of those who live and serve on the bases: military personnel, contractors, and their families.

To date, SMMA has managed over 35 task orders and performed work in over 24 buildings or sites across the two bases.

Services include the development of planning charrette, facility, and sustainability reports, systems and environmental studies, soil tests, design for repairs/upgrades/replacements, and design-build RFP development.

While working on IDIQ contracts at the Naval Station Newport and Naval Submarine Base New London, we have contributed to a wide array of project and facility types:

  • Administrative Buildings and Headquarters
  • Barracks
  • Design-Build RFPs
  • Higher Education
  • Infrastructure Repairs (HVAC and control systems, electrical systems, base-wide fire alarms)
  • Instructional Classrooms
  • Office Space
  • Plans and Studies
