Kelly Sanborn was recently promoted to a Project Manager at SMMA.
Sanborn began her career at SMMA as an intern in 2014. She continued as an architect after graduating from Roger Williams University, first with a Bachelor of Science in Architecture and later with a Master’s of Architecture. After four years with the firm, she expressed a strong interest in project management and started as an Assistant Project Manager.
Since then, Sanborn has become an expert at balancing a large workload while simultaneously lending support to her peers:
“I want to be able to foster an environment that's conducive to creativity and production,” Sanborn says. “Those two factors are important because we are a service-driven business, but our service is creativity and production. They are one and the same. At the end of the day, I want people to put forth not just their best work, but something that they’re proud of.”
Sanborn has worked with a variety of SMMA clients such as EMD Serono, Nordblom Company, State Street, and Intercontinental Real Estate Corporation. She is also part of the Corporate & Commercial Business Development group, looking to forge new relationships with potential clients and initiate exciting projects.
“Right from the start, Kelly brought an infusion of fresh energy to the organization of projects, a deep desire to learn, and a strong commitment to our client’s needs," says Steven Vincent, SMMA Principal and Director of Project Management.
"After demonstrating that she could juggle a multitude of tasks for several project managers and their clients, confidence quickly grew in her abilities. She’s now managing her projects independently with a steadfast focus, diligence, and personalized client service that elevates the SMMA experience.”
