SMMA’s yearly integrated internship program provides students and young professionals with opportunities for leadership and professional growth. Our mission is to empower the next generation with the knowledge, skills, and experience needed to thrive in the ever-evolving world of design through hands-on work in our integrated firm.
Interns at SMMA work on real projects for real clients.
Interns work together to complete a special project in direct alignment with SMMA’s holistic and interdisciplinary model. This collaborative approach is a key part of the program’s goal to inspire, empower, and equip interns to become the next generation of leaders in A/E/C.
Our program serves as a bridge between academic learning and professional practice—and we have fun in the process.
SMMA’s Integrated Internship Program is built on three pillars:
We provide interns with a comprehensive, hands-on experience within their areas of study. All interns are paired with a mentor who helps guide them throughout their internship.
Collaborating across our 11 design disciplines, interns are responsible for completing a month-long integrated project based on real client work. They experience working together as a team and building internal relationships—the power of learning by doing.
We are committed to the development of aspiring talent looking to enter the industry. Our internship program has workshops, trainings, and forums on critical topics to prepare students’ soft and hard skills needed in professional life.
