Last month SMMA welcomed two new shareholders at the firm: construction contract administration architect David Fanuele and Director of Human Resources Christine Fleming.
The announcement was made by CEO and President Ara Krafian, honoring an SMMA tradition of welcoming new shareholders in January each year.
“I am delighted to announce that Dave Fanuele, a valued member of SMMA for nearly 20 years, has been named a shareholder,” said Krafian. “As a Senior Associate and a leader within our Construction Administration team, Dave has been pivotal in the success of our K-12 projects.
“Dave’s expertise in construction administration, technical detailing, and competence in representing SMMA on our job sites has been invaluable to our Architecture department, integrated design and the overall quality of our projects. His commitment to continuous improvement and excellence is evident through his active involvement in the Construction Administration group.”
K-12 Market Leader Lorraine Finnegan highlighted Fanuele’s exceptional contributions to school projects: “Dave’s dedication to exceeding client expectations and design intent through collaborative processes cannot be overstated. His architectural expertise allows him to roll up his sleeves and solve problems in the field, which is greatly appreciated by our design team and contractors.
“Dave consistently shares his field lessons, mentors our staff, and advances our work. His elevation to shareholder status reflects our confidence in his ability to continue driving excellence and innovation in our projects and processes.”
Fleming, who joined SMMA in 2023 to lead the firm’s HR team, has also been promoted to a shareholder. “dedication to fostering a high-performing culture of employee engagement and well-being has been remarkable,” said Krafian. “Her leadership has been instrumental in launching our Talent Development Management Committee. We anticipate this initiative will enhance employee engagement and support professional growth within our firm, beginning in 2025.”
Jennifer Howe, Senior Vice President, said: “Christine has had an immediate impact as HR Director. Her depth of experience, calm and compassionate demeanor, and business sense have been an asset to SMMA. As we seek to elevate our people, Christine will be a champion for our growth and development. Her elevation to shareholder status reflects our commitment to employees and our confidence in her ability to shape SMMA’s future.”
Congratulations to Dave and Christine on becoming SMMA shareholders!
