Hanscom Air Force Base

Located 10 miles west of downtown Boston, MA, Hanscom Air Force Base (HAFB) is called home by hundreds of military personnel, contractors, and their families. Through their Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contracts, SMMA has worked closely with the Air Force since 2015 to design, renovate, and provide maintenance for nearly 100 projects on base.

The projects range widely in scope and complexity, from secure facilities to infrastructure repairs. All contribute to the wellbeing and performance of those who live and serve on base.

To date, SMMA has managed over 85 task orders and performed work in over 35 buildings or site areas.

Services include the development of planning charrette, facility, and sustainability reports, systems and environmental studies, soil tests, design for repairs/upgrades/replacements, and design-build RFP development.

While working on IDIQ contracts at Hanscom Air Force Base, we have contributed to a wide array of project/facility types:

  • Administrative/Office Facilities
  • Child Development Centers
  • Conference Centers
  • Design-Build RFPs
  • Family Support Facilities
  • Infrastructure Repairs (HVAC and control systems, electrical systems, base-wide fire alarms)
  • Maintenance Facilities
  • Pavements (i.e., airport pavement, parking lots)
  • Secure Facilities
  • Utilities (water, sewer, electrical, natural gas, storm drainage)
