Hicks, Scott to Present Projects at AIA New England Conference

SMMA’s design for a rooftop field and parking garage for Worcester Polytechnic Institute will be the opening session of the AIA New England Regional Conference & Design Awards Program on October 5 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Worcester. It will be an all-day conference, with the WPI presentation taking place from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.

“WPI Hits a Home Run and Scores a Goal” is the title of the talk, to be conducted by SMMA’s Robert Hicks, AIA and Alfredo DiMauro, Assoc. AIA and AVP for Facilities, WPI. There will be a tour of the facility later in the afternoon. The project is the first rooftop sports field in Massachusetts and WPI's second green roof.

At the same event, John Scott of SMMA's Health and Science Studio will make a presentation on St. Vincent Cancer Center in Worcester, designed by SMMA. It will be part of a rapid-fire series of presentations called "5 Buildings, 5 Architects, 5 Minutes."
