Providence College - Suites Residence HallProvidence, Rhode Island |
OverviewBasic to the College’s plan to increase its resident student population is the construction of its newest residence hall which will allow the college to accommodate for the first time approximately 80% of its student body on campus. The location of the new 6-story building evolved from a campus master plan prepared by SMMA and creates a cultural quadrangle bounded by an existing residence facility, faculty offices, and the performing arts center. The facility provides 348 beds in combinations of 4-person and 6-person suites, each with its own living room, kitchenette and toilette/bath facilities. A lounge/ commons area is provided at each floor adjacent to the elevator stairway core and at the building entry a large commons provides for socializing, study, and campus-wide functions. This project's construction was managed by Dimeo Construction Company of Providence, Rhode Island. |
