Project Description: SMMA's new 218,000 sf high school for Hudson efficiently accommodates 1,200 students in grades 8-12, yet also provides a sense of small "communities" for socialization and safety. Safe Learning magazine hails the building's success at overcoming the liabilities of "bigness" while supporting a broad curriculum. The Knowledge Works Foundation recognized Hudson High School with its sole annual award to a public school which best serves its educational goals, while strengthening public support for education, as a "blueprint for the 21st Century." It was also awarded a citation by the 2007 Architectural Jury of the American Association of School Administrators/American Institute of Architects/Council of Educational Facility Planners International.
