Cultivating Repeat Clients

For Gordon, one of the most compelling and exciting aspects of his job is the opportunity to help a specific client on multiple goals over an extended period of time. “With repeat clients, it’s a real pleasure to be a part of their business plans and see the progress year after year,” he explains, referring to his work with CVS Health and State Street Corporation, among others.

Gordon knows, however, that repeat clients don’t come easily.

“We work hard to ensure that our clients feel that choosing us means it’ll be a smooth, successful process. Our client-centric focus is tenacious—we’ll do whatever is needed to get things done well, day in and day out. The respect our clients have for SMMA really speaks to the integrity here.”

The Consummate Coach

A former “ski bum,” Gordon’s hones his managerial skills on the slopes as a ski instructor. “When you’re teaching a ski class, it’s your job to motivate your students to make small improvements, get over what’s holding them back, and to have fun the entire time,” he explains. “My role at SMMA isn’t any different. Both require a balance of seriousness and enjoyment, as well as a lot of organizational passion.”
