Pardek Appointed Principal

SMMA excitedly announces that Michael Pardek, AIA, has received Principal status.

Pardek, who has been with the firm since 2010, shares an abundance of expertise with his colleagues. He leads conceptualization and design on a wide range of projects, balancing each project’s aspirational goals and technical realities. Some of his recent project work includes the Hood Park Master Plan, 89 A Street, L.L. Bean Outdoor Discovery Center, and two buildings currently under construction, 321 Harrison and the NAASR Vartan Gregorian Armenian Center.

“I am drawn to our clients and each of their particular stories,” Pardek explains. “I approach each project with optimism. Through that lens, learning, curiosity, and empathy become the fundamental drivers of design.”

Pardek, a graduate of Ball State University, is also currently a Committee Member for the Lyceum Fellowship. The Fellowship, which was founded by SMMA Founding Partner Jon McKee, promotes collaboration, connectivity, and a design dialogue among schools, architecture students, and industry professionals.

“Michael establishes a narrative for every design he creates,” says Mark Spaulding, SMMA Director of Design. “His investigation reveals meaningful projects which are both venturesome and beautiful. Michael’s promotion to Principal is integral to SMMA’s design aspirations and the opportunities ahead of us through his leadership.”
