Lorraine Finnegan, Director of SMMA's K-12 Studio, was recently selected as a judge for Engineering News-Record New England's upcoming "Top Young Professionals" feature.

Lorraine joined judges from Dewberry and Dyer Brown to choose nine emerging architecture, engineering, and construction leaders from Tilson Technology Management Inc., STV, VHB, Burns & McConnell, EMJ Corp., PC Construction, and Robinson + Cole. Judges and honorees will be featured in the publication's July 24–31 issue.

Philip Poinelli, FAIA, ALEP, has been appointed by American Institute of Architects' Executive Vice President/Chief Executive Officer Robert Ivy, FAIA, to serve on the jury of the 2017 Education Facility Design Awards, presented by the AIA Committee on Architecture for Education.

Jurors reviewed 120 design submissions, then convened in Washington, D.C., in early March, to discuss and select award recipients. Five projects were selected for Awards of Excellence, seven for Awards of Merit. The winners will be honored at the AIA Conference on Architecture, taking place from April 26th through 29th in Orlando, Florida, at which Phil will also serve as a panelist for the "Design Awards: Insights, Opportunities" session.
