Long Named IIDANE Emerging Leader of the Year
Sarah Long, an interior designer in SMMA’s Corporate and Commercial Studio, was recently honored by the New England Chapter of the International Interior Design Association as its Emerging Leader of the Year. Sarah was presented with the honor at the organization’s annual Business Leaders Breakfast, an event that gathers more than 500 design professionals from around the region to celebrate member contributions and examine challenges inherent to the modern business climate.
An active member of the IIDANE community, Sarah is a part of the Association’s growing Emerging Leaders Network, and currently serves on its Communications Committee. In the latter role, she has been integral in enhancing IIDANE’s online presence, leveraging her background in e-mail marketing and analytics to develop strategic campaigns that drive website traffic, as well as expanding social media initiatives.
“All of the time and effort that Sarah devotes to IIDANE is in addition to her daily workload at SMMA,” said Marie Fitzgerald, the firm’s Director of Interior Design. “That speaks volumes about how hard-working and committed a person she is. From the moment I met her, I knew I wanted Sarah to be part of our team.”
Since joining SMMA, Sarah has infused the firm’s programming and branding efforts with her passion and innovative design approach, developing spaces that are equal parts beautiful and functional for clients like State Street Corporation, Hologic, and Waters Corporation. The firm congratulates Sarah on her well-deserved recognition, and looks forward to her continued contributions and professional development.
